Universal Beyond Bars in Laoag

On Tuesday, August 25, the UBB volunteers from the Universal Church in Laoag conducted a special prayer meeting at the Ilocos Norte Provincial Jail. Almost 150 inmates attended the gathering.

The inmates received food packs and, most importantly, the Word of God, which gave them hope and strengthened their faith.

They were reminded that they are not alone and that, no matter what they have done in the past, God can forgive them and transform their lives if they are willing to change and surrender their lives to Him. It was an opportunity for repentance and true transformation that only God can provide. They were encouraged to make the decision to free themselves from guilt and choose Him as their only Savior and Protector.

Indeed, the event was a special day for all the inmates because it was an opportunity for them to know more about God and surrender their lives to Him. I am grateful to be part of this event because I was also reminded that once in my life, I was in a situation where I needed Him the most. Surely, He answered and extended His hands to me, and likewise to all these inmates,” shared Vanessa Calapit, one of the volunteers.

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven."

Matthew 18:19

We believe that the Word of God planted in their hearts gave them hope, strength, and an opportunity to begin again.
