Choosing Compassion Over Judgment

The Beat Depression Group brought awareness, spiritual support, and reflection on the importance of caring for mental health at Circle Park, Quezon City, on Saturday morning, June 13.

Talking about depression is necessary because when it is left unaddressed, it can lead to self-harm or suicidal thoughts. This activity helps people feel safer about admitting what they are going through instead of hiding it. When depression is hidden, the person carries it alone—and that makes it heavier.

That’s why talking about it is important—it opens the door to understanding, support, and healing.

Every conversation, every gesture, and every piece of information shared can be an important step toward saving lives. Conversations filled with compassion and without judgment help remind people that no one has to face depression alone.

This is why the Beat Depression Group continues to carry this message: to embrace more, judge less, and remember that caring for the mind is just as essential as caring for the body.
