“To whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.” Acts 1:3
This is the greatest promise that God wants to fulfill in us. If a person wants to save their family, they must allow others to see Jesus in them—living inside them through the Holy Spirit.
People find it very difficult to do what is right, to remain faithful, and to practice the teachings of Jesus because they lack the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, a person may leave the church and give up the faith because of the many pressures from the world—so many things try to pull a person away from God.
It is the Holy Spirit who keeps us in the faith until the coming of Jesus. The reason Jesus spoke to the disciples about the Kingdom of God for forty days after His resurrection was to prepare them for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus knew that if they did not receive the Holy Spirit, all His work would have been in vain. But because they received the Holy Spirit, the message of salvation has reached us.
People may receive many miracles, but none of these truly matter if Jesus does not live in us. It is through the baptism of the Holy Spirit that the work of God is completed in a person’s life.
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
The power that comes from the Holy Spirit enables us to overcome temptation, tribulation, deserts, and difficulties—to resist the devil and to remain faithful until the end.
