The Rivers of Living Water

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

John 7:38

The living water is the Holy Spirit. Those who believe in Jesus will have the Spirit of God flowing within them.

Many people often appear angry, and when they speak, there is little respect. They shout, swear, and curse, with words filled with negativity. This is because what flows within them is evil—resentment, hatred, jealousy, and other harmful feelings.

A person may try to act good, polite, or respectful, but eventually, what is inside will come out.

However, those who have the Holy Spirit have life flowing from within them. Even in difficulties, problems, and tribulations, they speak positively. They do not complain; instead, they give thanks to God.

What flows from them is life because they have the Spirit of Life within them. They may feel sadness or anger at times, but they do not act on it. Instead, they pray, because the Holy Spirit gives self-control.

To believe in Jesus as the Scripture says is to believe with all your body, all your soul, and all your mind.

1.       All your Body

Tithing will never be difficult for you. Instead of wasting your money with gambling, addictions, and prostitution, you spend your money wisely because your life is in Jesus. You dress nicely, you no longer hang out with people who drink and go to parties, and you will not go places that are not for believers.

2.      All your Soul

You live to love your family, but you live to love God more than anyone or anything. When you value your soul, you stay away from sin, from bad company and bad friendships and you will have no other god. You will only pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ because He is the way, the truth, and the life. And no one goes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

3.      All your Mind

It is a rational faith supported by the Word of God. It is not by religiosity or feelings, but by obedience.

So, if you do not have yet the Holy Spirit, take the Fast of Daniel as an opportunity to receive Him, and let the Living Waters flow within you. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you will receive power to resist the devil, to say no what is wrong and to obey the Word of God.
