The Sunday of Pentecost

On Sunday, May 24, will be the Day of Pentecost—the day of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. We have been preparing for this day by prioritizing the seeking of the Holy Spirit during the Fast of Daniel and by anointing ourselves daily with the blessed oil received on Good Friday.

We are reminded that the first step in this preparation is to place the Holy Spirit above all else.

Second, we must cleanse our hearts and minds from negative thoughts and feelings. In order to receive the Holy Spirit, grudges, sinful thoughts, resentment, envy, and all forms of negativity must be abandoned.

Lastly, we are called to seek the Holy Spirit sincerely and with all our heart. People are often willing to do everything to achieve their physical goals or dreams; in the same way, receiving the Holy Spirit requires total surrender, dedication, and genuine desire.

Just as we prepare our homes for a visitor, those who desire the baptism of the Holy Spirit must prepare their inner selves to become the dwelling place of God.

Moreover, Bishop Macedo will be in the Upper Room in Jerusalem this coming Sunday, ministering the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Sunday will mark the coming of the Holy Spirit, a day of renewal faith and total surrender to God.

Join us this Sunday at 10am here at the Holy Ground, General Roxas Avenue, Araneta City, Cubao.
