Jesus is the only way for us to be reconnected to God.

God presents, through His Word, a very simple way to have a relationship with Him. However, people often find it difficult to have a relationship with God because we cannot see Him.
Many people think they need religion in order to have a relationship with God. The word religion means “to reconnect.” The idea behind it is that religion exists so that we may reconnect to God. But in reality, religion often teaches people a system and creates images so that people have something they can see, hold, or grasp.
The Bible, however, uses symbols. The cross is a symbol of victory—where Jesus defeated Satan and opened the pathway for us to return to God. It is the sacrifice of Jesus that reconnects us to God, not religion.
Religion can create a barrier, a wall of separation. Many wars throughout history have been fought in the name of religion because of differences of opinion. This is not the kind of relationship God desires to have with us.
“Jesus therefore answered and said to them, ‘Do not murmur among yourselves.’” John 6:43
Jesus spoke about Himself as the Bread of Life, but because the people were accustomed to religion, they began murmuring about it. Murmur means to complain. This is why the Hebrews who left Egypt—the land of slavery—perished in the desert on their way to the Promised Land. They complained through every difficulty they faced, and as a result, they never took possession of the Promised Land.
Likewise, we often worry about everything, especially about tomorrow. But God teaches us not to be anxious and shows us what to do when we are:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
God has not given us an image; He has given us His Word, and He calls us to have faith in His Word. Our relationship with God is based on His Word. Even when we are in the middle of a storm, we can have peace.
Therefore, the source of peace is not directly linked to external factors. The source of peace is linked to our personal relationship with God.
Jesus died on the cross so that we could return to God once again, because sin had broken that relationship. Through Jesus, we are reconnected and reunited with our Creator.
The only way for us to be reconnected to God is through Jesus Christ. And so that we may live in this world, keep our peace, stay strong, and not lose our hearts or our faith, God sent us the Holy Spirit—the breath of God within us.
