The Root of Suffering

One of the hardest things for a human being to do is to accept that they are wrong. It is much easier to blame others. Children blame their parents, couples blame each other, and people blame the government.
But why is there so much suffering in the world?
“’Now, therefore,’ says the Lord, ‘Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.’ So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm.” Joel 2:12-13
All the problems we see in the world today, beginning with Adam and Eve, are the direct result of humanity’s rebellion against God. People embrace religion, yet they forget God and turn away from Him.
The way out of suffering is not religion but turning back to God and choosing to obey His will. Living according to our own desires and pursuing only what we want will ultimately lead to more suffering.
If people want to fix their problems, they must first fix their relationship with God. They need to let go of their own will and allow God to guide them so that they can have a genuine relationship with Him.
To know the will of God, we must read the Bible. Putting the Word of God into practice can change a person's life. However, God desires to do much more than bring healing, prosperity, and blessings. While these are good, they are not enough. A person must have the Holy Spirit dwelling within them.
When a person has the Holy Spirit, that is when life becomes truly fulfilled.
