AI vs. Spiritual Intelligence: What Are You Depending On?
These days, it’s become so easy to open a chat app and ask a question. Need advice? Ask AI. Need ideas? Ask AI. Need clarity? Type a prompt.
And while there’s nothing wrong with using technology, it quietly raises a deeper question: When was the last time we prayed first before asking something online?
AI Is Helpful—But It Has Limits
Artificial Intelligence can be incredibly useful. It helps us write, learn faster, organize thoughts, and explain complex ideas in simple ways.
But at the end of the day, AI is still built on human knowledge.
It draws from information created by people—with different beliefs, opinions, and perspectives. Some of that knowledge is helpful, some incomplete, and some may not lead us toward God at all.
And this is something we should not forget:
AI does not have the Spirit of God.
It can sound wise—but it doesn’t have spiritual discernment.
It can give answers—but it cannot guide your soul.
Spiritual Intelligence Comes from Relationship
Spiritual Intelligence isn’t about quick answers—it’s about knowing God personally.
It grows through simple, consistent practices:
- Praying honestly
- Reading the Bible
- Being still and listening
- Trusting God in daily decisions
As it says in Colossians 1:9: “We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives.”
This kind of wisdom doesn’t come instantly. It grows as you walk with God daily.
Prompt vs. Prayer
Here’s something to reflect on:
- AI depends on your prompt
- God responds to your heart
AI reacts to what you type. God responds to relationship.
There’s nothing wrong with using AI—but it becomes a problem when we replace prayer with it.
A Simple Reminder
The Bible tells us: "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God" James 1:5
Not to ask your phone first, ask the internet first or ask others first.
Simply ask God.
It’s a simple truth—but one we often overlook.
Let AI Be a Tool, Not Your Source
AI can be helpful. It can provide information, improve your work and help you learn faster. But it should never replace prayer, God’s Word and seeking His direction.
Use it wisely—but don’t depend on it. Let it assist you—but don’t let it lead your life.
What Are You Depending On?
It’s easy to spend so much time with technology that we slowly neglect our relationship with God.
We upgrade our devices.
We explore new tools.
We stay constantly connected online.
But do we spend time in prayer? Do we open our Bible regularly? Do we ask God for wisdom in our decisions?
This isn’t about rejecting technology. It's about putting God first.
Final Thought
AI can give you information but only God can give you wisdom, peace, and direction. So the next time you’re about to type a question… pause, pray, and ask God first. Because in the end, it’s not about how fast you get answers— it’s about where those answers are coming from.
