Who has authority against the devil?

When Jesus sent seventy of His disciples into the villages to heal the sick, cast out demons in His name, and proclaim the Kingdom of God, they returned full of joy. In Luke 10:18–19, Jesus said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

The authority to overcome Satan and his demons comes from God through the Holy Spirit. Those who have the Holy Spirit dwelling within them can stand against evil and use the authority given to them in the Name of Jesus.

A person does not need to be perfect to receive the Holy Spirit. What matters is a sincere willingness to surrender their life to Jesus, turn away from sin, and make the Holy Spirit a priority in their life.

However, we must not underestimate the devil's influence. He seeks to lead people into mistakes, crimes, harmful relationships, conflict, and even war. This influence often begins in the mind.

When a person has the Holy Spirit, they don’t fear evil, on the other hand, it’s evil that fears them.

Jesus also taught His disciples to not rejoice because they can heal and cast out demons, but because their names were written in heaven. And this happens when a person has repented, walked away from sin and are living a life of obedience to God.

If you recognize that something in your life needs to change, you have a decision to make. You can choose to stop doing what is wrong, start doing what is right, and surrender your life to Jesus. If you do not want to give the devil a foothold in your life, put your life in God's hands and follow His Word.

The Holy Spirit is for all of us, all who believe can have the Holy Spirit. But for you to receive it, you must give your life to Jesus.
