What does it mean to truly believe in God?

ree

Our belief in the Word of God is shown in the actions we take to give our life to Jesus.

When we decide that we no longer like the life we are living and choose to surrender our lives to God, that is when we begin to take action: we abandon our old life and beliefs, get baptized in water, and commit ourselves to receiving the Holy Spirit.

Going to church just to receive prayer is not enough; we need to do our part. God does not want us only to receive blessings or simply improve our lives—He wants to completely change us from within. But for this change to happen in your life, you must be honest, sincere, transparent, and fully surrender your life to Him.

There is no point in praying to God to change your life if you don’t want to change. You need to be willing to change and let Him work in you.

“Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophesying is not for unbelievers but for those who believe.” 1 Corinthians 14:22

Believe and it will be fulfilled in your life. Moreover, always be thankful to God.

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” Psalm 100:4

Many of us forget the goodness of God and focus too much on the things we have not yet achieved. Yet, we would be much happier if we focused on what we already have—even the small things God does for us.

When we focus on what we lack, we become angry, upset, filled with negative ideas, thoughts, complaints, and feelings. But when we focus on all that God has done, we find a reason to give thanks every day.

Be grateful for what you have and hopeful for what you do not yet have. Gratitude—both in action and attitude—draws us closer to God. It helps us recognize that all He is and all that He does is for our best.
