What can save our family?

When it comes to your family, you can give them everything. You can pay for their education, pave the way for them to attend university, build them a house, and do everything within your power to provide for them. Yet none of these things can save them. What will save your family is what you do for them on the Altar.

The truth is, no amount of love and care is enough to save a loved one—only faith can save your family.

But why do some people have difficulty leaving their seats, coming to the Altar, and manifesting their faith? Why is it so hard for them to come to the Altar?

“David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah. And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, ‘You shall not come in here; but the blind and the lame will repel you,’ thinking, ‘David cannot come in here.’ Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion (that is, the City of David).” 2 Samuel 5:4-7

David’s conquest of Mount Zion in Jerusalem teaches us many important lessons today. First, it reveals the resistance of evil against God's people and His plans. Second, it demonstrates the determination that faith requires in order to take possession of God's promises.

Your enemy is spiritual. It is not a physical enemy that can be defeated with bullets. You cannot kill the devil. The devil uses everything the world offers to try to destroy what you are building and what you love most.

But you have your faith, the Word of God, and the name of Jesus. Through faith, you can see your dreams fulfilled. However, the devil wants you to believe that your situation is impossible. The moment you accept that lie, you begin to believe you cannot overcome your problems, so you settle for living with them instead of fighting against them.

Do not make peace with the devil. Do not bow to any form of oppression, and do not accept it as your final destination. Do not believe there is nothing you can do for your family. Do not accept the idea that because you were born poor, you must die poor; that because you are sick, you must simply learn to live with your disease; that because your marriage is broken, your spouse will never change; or that you are destined to remain in a broken relationship.

God has given you faith, and faith is God's power within you to call into existence the things that do not yet exist. Through faith, you can receive healing, see your marriage restored, rebuild your family, prosper, and ultimately inherit eternal life.

David took possession of Jerusalem because he believed, and God gave him the victory. In the same way, if you believe, nothing will be impossible for you. But you must rise up and say no to your suffering. You must act on your faith.

Bring your battles, your suffering, your pain, and your shame to the Altar. Your past does not determine your future. The beginning of your life does not have to define its end. Your life can change, and your faith can make that change possible.

The Altar is the holy place where we present our faith to God through sacrifice. There, we depend on Him, and He does for us what no one else can. But you must act on your faith.

God will give you victory over your spiritual enemies so that, through faith in His promises, you may conquer what you need most.
