It was an eye-opening service last Sunday, April 26, in the Universal Church in Davao.
People were gathered and learned a powerful revelation from God about “idolatry.”
It says in Luke 12:34 “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
They learned that idolatry is not limited to physical objects or statues. It is anything or anyone that takes first place in your heart instead of God.
People also understood that whatever or whoever takes first place in our hearts—family, money, dreams—are considered idols. Idolatry can hinder a person from receiving the Holy Spirit. That’s why if a person desires to be filled with Spirit of God, they should prioritize God above anything else.
The message inspired and enlightened people, leading them to surrender their “idols” on the Altar and to align their faith according to the will of God. Through evaluating who is truly first in their heart and deciding to place God in first place.
“I learned that we shouldn't prioritize our own will, because following our own path only pulls us away from God's presence. I decided to surrender those things to Him because I want to follow His will instead. Through this, I’ve learned to trust Him completely. Since surrendering everything to God, I have felt such a deep sense of peace today.” — Arlen Evangelista
“I’m so happy to share that I received healing. I’ve been sick for the last few days, but I turned to the Lord in prayer and asked for His help. Right after I drank the blessed water, my fever disappeared! I truly believe I was healed because I put my full trust in God. I also learned something important about idolatry. It’s not just about people; it can also be about putting money or possessions first. I’ve realized that we really need to make the Lord our top priority because He is more important than anything else in our lives.” — Jairah Amolo
