The Sunday of Reconciliation — A Chance to Return

In today’s busy world, which is filled with a lot of distractions, it’s easy for people to slowly drift away from their faith without even noticing. It might start with skipping a few Sundays or putting off prayer, but over time it can lead to feeling completely disconnected. Many who were once close to God and active in the church, now feel distant and unsure how to come back — or if they even can.
That’s why on Sunday, November 16, we will have the “Sunday of Reconciliation”, to reach out to those who have wandered away and help them find their way back.
In the Bible, the story of Abraham tells how he went to rescue his relative Lot, who had gone astray in the city of Sodom. This story reminds us of compassion and determination — never giving up on those we care about, even when they’ve lost their way.
This day isn’t about judging or blaming anyone. It’s about care, understanding, and the belief that everyone can start again. Some may not be ready to return, still choosing their own path. But for those who feel that something’s missing, this day is an open invitation to come back home.
Maybe you haven’t left the church physically, but your heart feels far from God. Perhaps you’ve started thinking prayer doesn’t work, or that God has stopped listening. Maybe something painful happened, and you can’t understand why. You might even feel that returning isn’t for you — that it’s too late or won’t change anything.
But if you’re reading this now, this is not a coincidence. This is your sign — a moment to turn things around. In Ezekiel 33:11, God says, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live.” And in Ezekiel 18:22, He promises to forgive and forget what you did in the past.
In other words, it’s never too late to start again. The Sunday of Reconciliation is a chance to find peace, renew hope, and restore your relationship with God.
On Sunday, November 16, every Simbahang Universal will open its doors to welcome all who want to take that step — whether you’ve been away for months or years. You are warmly invited to return — back to faith, back to hope, and back to God.
