It was a morning where people received the opportunity to experience God’s power, provision and most importantly—a complete change in their life.
They were inspired through a powerful testimony of life transformation, and received prayer for healing and deliverance.
During the service, they also had the opportunity to honor God with their first fruits, believing in the Lord’s Prayer, that as they place God first, God will always provide their daily bread. In this faith, their bread was blessed, which they will share with their family and determine that God will supply their daily needs.
However, besides all the blessings received, the most important was the message.
Yesterday marked the beginning of the Fast of Daniel in preparation for the day of Pentecost, and people were empowered through the Word of God.
The disciples received the direction to wait in Jerusalem for the greatest promise- the outpouring of Holy Spirit. However, out of over 500 people, only 120 remained in the Upper Room in one accord and in one place (Acts 1 and 2).
People learned that to receive the Holy Spirit, they must also remain focused and show to God how much they desire to receive Him. They must stay in one accord, connected to God by participating in the Fast of Daniel- a moment to silence the voice of the world (distractions, entertainment, unnecessary information) and turn up the voice of God.
God’s greatest desire is to make us rivers of living water. But for that promise to be fulfilled, we must observe the condition required- to believe.
“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.” John 7:38-39
Many people say they believe in God, but why is it that they have not yet become rivers of living water? Because they are not believing according to what the Scripture says.
The first commandment says that we must love God with all our heart, soul and mind (Matthew 22:37-38).
That means that our belief in God must be reflected in our body (behavior, places we go, etc.), in our soul (to value the salvation of the soul above all things and people), and in our spirit (living in obedience to the Word of God, and not by feelings or religiosity)
“I learned that we have to focus in spirit and that we need to be in faith, which is the power of hope in our daily life. To make more time for God's Word because we are very busy with other things. As we learned in the service that we need to love God first above all, with all our heart and strength, but most of the time we do the opposite. From now on, I will put all my effort to practice and make God first on my list. So that God will guide me on what are the right things to do in life. So that I can obey His will and not my will. I will also make more time to go to church to feed my spirit as I believe.” - Genevie C. Cuthill Coutts
“I have learned from the service that, first and foremost, we must love God, as this is the primary commandment from Him. We need to prioritize our relationship with Him and remain consistent in our faith, applying the teachings of God that we learn in practice. Furthermore, the way we love ourselves should reflect in how we treat others, even if it is through simple gestures.” - Araceli G. Somejo
