Sunday of the Heart’s Purification

Purification means the process of removing impurities or unwanted elements from something to make it clean, pure, or refined. Spiritually speaking, it is cleansing the body, mind and soul from sin or negativity.

Many people struggle with ‘impurities’ in their lives: grudges, insecurities, and more. These characteristics often have negative effects on a person's character and actions.  But worst, they can impede people from having a relationship and communion with God.

For the baptism with the Holy Spirit to happen, a person's heart should be purified. It should be free from anger, guilt, envy, resentment, pride, dishonesty, malice, greed, and everything else that contaminates it.

"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life."

Proverbs 4:23

As we are in the journey to the Day of Pentecost, purification must happen in preparation for this day.

This Sunday, April 19, will be the "Sunday of the Heart's Purification". It is an opportunity to surrender to God what has been inside your heart that impedes Him to live inside of you. A day for you to be cleansed and surrender your life to Him completely.

Before this day, pray to God and ask Him to show you what is negative inside your heart that needs to be removed. Write it down on a piece of paper and bring it with you this Sunday.

Remember, God cannot live inside of a heart that is not clean.
