Sunday of 'The Father Invites You' in Baguio

Yesterday, people from the Universal Church in Baguio were reminded that loyalty is more than simply staying—it is honoring the commitments we have made.

Disloyalty begins in the heart when we stop being faithful to what we once promised. We learned that disagreement does not mean disloyalty. We can disagree, correct, or even confront someone while still choosing to be honest, respectful, and faithful.

But when we pretend to stand with someone while acting against them behind their back, we break the trust that was given to us.

Most importantly, yesterday’s message challenged us to look within ourselves:

Are we keeping our word?

Are we faithful to God?

Are we faithful to our family and spouse?

Are we faithful to the Church and to every covenant we have made?

True loyalty is revealed not only by what we say, but by how faithfully we keep the commitments we have made.

 “Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you do not deal treacherously.”

“It was an awakening moment for my faith and my relationship with God. I was reminded of one thing that God hates us to do: to break our vow with Him. In my journey of faith, I've failed multiple times and God knows my weaknesses in terms of my emotions, the situations that pressure me, and the heartbreaking moments. Then, it occurred to me that they are not an excuse for me to be disloyal to Him.

By the time I started my relationship with God, along the way, I made vows with Him, but in all honesty, not all of them have been kept by me. I understood that the only way our relationship with our Creator can be broken is through our own hands, which means it is because of our disloyalty.

So, I learned that these vows were made to teach us how to be truthful before God and how to use one's faith, as Jacob did, after which God fulfilled His promises.

As it has been said, we should be people of our word. A vow that has been made must be fulfilled, and we should know that God is omnipresent, especially where there is a covenant. He fulfills His promises, but this also includes my fulfillment of my vow. In the same way that God keeps His promises, I am also committed to keeping my word through my total obedience and faithfulness to Him.” — Kimberly Villanueva, one of the attendees shared her experienced from the service.
