Sunday of Reconciliation Highlights

ree

Yesterday, Sunday, November 16, we had the Sunday of Reconciliation. We learned the importance of being reconnected to God, and that being far from Him leads to a life of suffering and sorrow.

Jesus was sent so that we could be reconnected to God, because that is God’s desire.

Bishop Jean mentioned that salvation is the most difficult thing to achieve—yet not impossible. Perseverance is what we need to remain in the faith and be saved until the end.

"If indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard."

Colossians 1:23

Moreover, we also learned that the greatest battle we face is the struggle between our own will and God’s will. Letting go of our own will is the secret to the salvation of our soul.

In Gethsemane, Jesus’ will was surrendered.  For us, what we want does not matter; what matters is the will of God. If we also surrender our will and allow God’s will to unfold in our lives, we will receive the Holy Spirit—the Presence of God within us—and the assurance of our salvation.
