Jesus revealed Himself to the prejudiced man, Nathanael, a sincere man, yet he was also sincerely mistaken. When Philip invited him to meet the Savior Jesus Christ, Nathanael almost missed the opportunity because of his prejudice.
Despite being a prejudiced man, Philip didn’t argue with him. Rather, he simply challenged him: “Come and see.”
“Philip found Nathanael and said to him, ‘We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.’ And Nathanael said to him, ‘Can anything good come out of Nazareth?’ Philip said to him, ‘Come and see.’” John 1:45-46
Many people today are like this, desperately in need of an answer, yet resisting an invitation out of their own prejudices. They long for truth, solution and a way out, yet at the same time, they hesitate to move forward and are unwilling to look beyond what they already believe.
The greatest opportunity in a person’s life may be hidden precisely behind what they despise most. Sometimes, the very things we think cannot help us may be the ones we need the most.
Hearing about something is one thing, but another is to truly experience it. You may have heard testimonies and stories of transformation, but now it is time for you to see it for yourself.
Wondering how? Just as Philip challenged Nathanael, we invite you to “Come and See” the power of God manifested in your life.
