“I used to be addicted to cigarettes and alcohol, but I didn’t think that those bad habits could impede me from achieving my goals in life. Eventually, I met my wife at work and we decided to get married and build a family together.” - Rudy
“When I was still single, I prayed to God for a good husband—someone without addictions—and for a happy family. I grew up in a good family where, even when there were disagreements, my parents didn't shout at each other. They talked calmly whenever they had problems, and I wanted my own family to be like that. Little did I know that I ended up marrying a man who struggled with addictions.” - Gloria
“Even after we were married, I still couldn't let go of my addictions. Because of this, my wife was constantly upset with me. She repeatedly asked me to quit, especially after we started having children.” - Rudy
“I always asked him to stop. We constantly argued because of his addictions. Even though he had a job, when he received his salary, there was often nothing left to buy food for our children. That's why I worked hard to provide for them, because if I depended on him, our children would go hungry.” - Gloria
“I continued with my addictions, and this led to financial problems. My wife was selling food to support our family, and I saw how much she struggled. She worked so hard to provide for our children, because if she had depended on me, they would have gone hungry. I felt sorry for her, but that still wasn't enough to make me stop.
Eventually, I was caught drinking alcohol at work. As a result, I was fired and lost my job. That’s when things became extremely difficult. My wife became angry and the conflicts at home increased even more.” - Rudy
“It reached a point where I could no longer see peace in our family, which is why I decided to separate because I couldn’t bear the situation anymore.” - Gloria
“It was at this moment that I finally realized that my bad habits were destroying everything I worked hard to build. When everything seemed lost, that’s when a light shone at the end of the tunnel - we were invited to the Universal Church.
Through the guidance I received during the meetings, I came to understand that if I truly wanted my life to change, I had to first change myself and my actions. It wasn't easy, but I decided to let go of my addictions and I asked my wife for forgiveness.” - Rudy
“We forgave each other and I also realized my mistakes and began to take actions to change. I stopped being stubborn, cursing, using hurtful words and constantly fighting with my husband.” - Gloria
“I decided to surrender my life to God through water baptism and I chose to prioritize my salvation. I understood that my change could only be permanent if I received the Holy Spirit. I sought the Spirit of God not only with words but continually through my actions and obedience to His Word.
Consequently, I received the Holy Spirit, and that is my greatest joy. I have God’s power inside of me and I no longer desire those addictions I used to have. With the help of the Spirit of God, I learned to truly value my wife and my family.” - Rudy
“By attending the Love Therapy, we learned to value our marriage, respect and love one another, and communicate better as we faced life's challenges together.
We have now been together for 36 years because we put God at the center of our relationship. He is the source of our strength. Today, there is peace in our family, and we have also been blessed financially.” — Gloria
