Is everyone a child of God?

Many people think that everyone is a child of God. But through God’s Word, we come to know the truth.
“Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.” Ephesians 2:19
The members of the household of God are those who have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, surrendered their lives to Him, and are living in newness of life.
But how can we know if we are members of God’s family?
“Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd. And it was told Him by some, who said, ‘Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.’ But He answered and said to them, ‘My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.’” Luke 8:19
Not everybody is part of God’s family. It is wrong to assume that we are all God’s children. The children of God are those who are born of God. Many may be attached to or faithful in the physical church, yet they do not obey the Word of God and find it difficult to do so because they are not born of God.
Jesus teaches that to be part of His family, we must hear and obey the Word of God. This does not require physical strength, but a new heart, a new spirit, and a new nature. We need the Holy Spirit within us.
If you want to be part of His family—to live in His Kingdom, to be saved, and to go to heaven—you need an inner transformation. It is not the church that changes you; it is your decision to do what is right and to stop doing what is wrong.
Humble yourself before God and ask for His help to transform you, to make you a new creation, and to fill you with the Holy Spirit. If He sees your sincerity and honesty, He will come and make you a new person.
There is no way to be part of the family of God without the Spirit of God. “So they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.’” Acts 16:31 For your family to be saved, it begins with you. You must believe in Him to the point of surrendering your life to Him.
You must be the first to give your life, so that they may see Jesus in you.
