We grew up poor because we are many siblings. My family’s livelihood was not enough for us. My siblings had a hard time finding work. Sometimes, we had to borrow money just to buy food so we could eat.
For me, I was content with that kind of life. But as I grew up, I realized how difficult our situation really was. I dreamed of going abroad so I could help solve our problems.
When I went abroad, I thought I would be able to change my life, but I was wrong. I borrowed money from the bank and later struggled with debt. My family depended on me as the breadwinner. My siblings were studying, and I needed to send them money. I became depressed because of financial problems.
All my problems were related to money and I felt like I could no longer handle it.
When I went to the Universal Church, I learned that I could not change my situation by my own strength. I understood that I needed to place God first in my life. I decided to become faithful to Him with my life, and also through my first fruits and offerings. Consequently, God began to open doors for me.
Now, we have 10 hectares of land that my father worked hard for over 35 years to obtain. When I saw that land, I knew it was the beginning of something new. I bought it and planted avocado trees and other crops. Since then, my family and I have been blessed financially. God provided for my needs, and I was able to build my own house and establish my own livelihood.
I realized that this blessing is not just for me, which is why I have the desire to glorify God and do more for Him. I believe that if we are faithful to the Lord, He will bless us.
Because of my faithfulness to God, I have seen His greatness in my life, and my family is no longer dependent on me.
