EVG: Bringing comfort through prayer

There are absences that time cannot erase. A voice that can no longer be heard, an embrace that is deeply missed, or a memory that suddenly comes to mind. For those who have lost someone dear, longing for that person can become part of their daily lives, even after many years.
However, when November 1 and 2 arrive, which are known as All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, these feelings can become more intense. While some people find comfort in good memories, others struggle with sadness, guilt, regrets, and even questions about their own lives.
In the midst of pain, faith can be a source of hope and strength.
In the Bible, the Lord Jesus declared:
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” (Matthew 5:4)
This promise highlights the importance of comfort for those who are suffering. After all, although no one can replace the presence of someone who has passed away, those who are grieving can find strength in God to face the absence and move forward.
Moreover, receiving a kind word, having someone willing to listen, and realizing that you are not alone can make a difference during the most difficult moments.
With the aim of bringing comfort and spiritual support to people who are grieving, the Universal Church's Evangelization Group (EVG) in the Philippines went out to visit cemeteries yesterday afternoon, Sunday, November 1.
During these activities, volunteers offered words of comfort, prayers, and messages of faith based on the Word of God.
More than just a conversation, the purpose was to show that even in the face of loss, no one needs to go through suffering alone.
