Be Aware of the Signs

This month has been dedicated to raising awareness about violence against the elderly. With that in mind, the Caleb group launched the “Be Aware of the Signs” campaign last Sunday, June 21.

The campaign aims to raise awareness, provide guidance, and encourage everyone to recognize the signs of abuse while emphasizing the importance of respecting, caring for, and protecting the elderly.

Holding banners and posters, the participants demonstrated that remaining silent does not help elderly victims of abuse. Instead, they were encouraged to speak up and report cases when abuse is evident.

As one of the volunteers shared, “This campaign is very important, especially for us elderly people who may not be aware of the signs. Some people ignore them out of fear.”

Remember to pay attention to the signs, practice active listening, refuse to remain silent in the face of violence, and dial 911 to report cases of abuse against the elderly.
