FAQ'S
What is the Fast of Daniel?
The Fast of Daniel is 21 days of abstaining from all secular media and information, instead using our time focusing on activities that feed our soul. It is inspired by the fast described in Daniel chapter 10. For three weeks, Daniel fasted to draw closer to God and gain favour, wisdom and understanding and did not eat pleasant food.
What is the objective?
The main objective is to receive the Holy Spirit i.e. God’s presence. When we have His presence, we have true peace and guidance, which, if we follow, will result in great wonders in our lives. In short, it’s an opportunity for you to draw closer to the Most High and start a new life with the Creator of all.
Who is the Fast of Daniel for?
The Fast is for those who desire to receive peace within them in the midst of this tempestuous world. It is also for those who have the Holy Spirit and want more of the presence of God in them so that He can flow freely in their life with no restrictions.
How do I participate?
For 21 days, you will abstain from secular content, whether entertainment, music or news. Just as Daniel did not eat any delicacies and desirable foods, you will stop consuming these types of content - which are pleasant to your flesh.
โโ
Connect with God more. Read the Bible daily and access Christian content that can feed your faith during the Fast.
Disconnect from social media. If you don’t use it for work, you should avoid it as much as possible except to connect with the church. Put all your focus on receiving the Holy Spirit.
What can I watch during the Fast?
You can watch movies, TV series and content that will help you get closer to God. But be careful not to get caught up in entertainment. The aim of this Fast is that you develop your personal relationship with God, abandoning bad habits and actions so you can fix or strengthen your relationship with Him through sincerely keeping the lines of communication with Him open.
What are the steps to receive the Holy Spirit?
To receive the Holy Spirit, there are three necessary steps that must be taken.
โ
Step 1 - Repentance: This involves acknowledging your sins, hating them, abandoning them, and forgetting about them.
Step 2 - Water Baptism: This is a public declaration of severing ties with your old life and starting anew with the Lord Jesus.
Step 3 - Baptism of the Holy Spirit: To experience the fullness of God within, you must let go of negative spirits, grudges, lies, materialism, and distractions. Seek the Holy Spirit with all your being. Baptism with the Holy Spirit gives the strength to overcome any challenge.
โ
Note this is only a summary of these steps. You are highly encouraged to attend meetings, read the books of the church on this topic and approach a servant of God to gain a deeper understanding of this topic.
Why haven't I received the Holy Spirit?
I have been praying, fasting, seeking and praising God… I have been doing everything that I have been taught. So why haven’t I been baptised with the Spirit of God?

The answer to this question requires you to make a deep and sincere self-analysis, to look deep within and at your faith:
-
Living in the past, blaming what happened in your past, using it as an excuse for everything that happens in your present.
-
You cannot forgive someone for something that they have said or done to you.
-
You don’t prioritise what’s most important, that is, God. You always have someone or something else in first place.
-
You do everything your way, no matter how many times you say that you will listen to what the men of God say. You always end up doing things according to your own will.
-
You live focused only on yourself. You only live and fight for what will satisfy you.
-
You are not a good example to others, be it at home, at work, amongst friends, because you do not apply outside what you learn in the HelpCentre.
Can you identify yourself with any of these? If you say, ‘yes’ the Fast of Daniel may be just what you need.
