An Invisible War

Where do wars and fights come from among you?

Every human being is in constant war and, inevitably, they have to face it. It is an invisible war between their feelings (flesh) and the Spirit.

“Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?” James 4:1

I want to receive the Holy Spirit but I still covet what belongs to others; I want to receive the Holy Spirit but I am still envious; I want to receive the Holy Spirit but I still fight and battle in order to have something more; I want to receive the Holy Spirit but I still ask God for things for my own pleasure; I want to receive the Holy Spirit but I am still a friend of the world and the things in it. (James 4:2-4) Until a person overcomes their own feelings, they will not be able to receive the Holy Spirit. After all, He is jealous of us and deserves exclusivity in our lives because He is God Himself.

“Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, ‘The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously’?” James 4:5

There is only one way to win this invisible war and to receive the Holy Spirit: it is by sanctifying oneself.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:8-10

We will experience the Fast of Sanctification for the baptism with the Holy Spirit. Get ready! It will be from 11th April to 1st May.
